The process of assimilation into LGBTQ communities can be complicated. Whether it is body image, lifestyle choices or openness surrounding gender identity and sexual orientation, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people can often experience ostracism from the community members with whom they wish to identify. Who is allowed in and who remains on the outside, and why?
